Kenita Pitts-Howard is currently a Branch Banker III for Branch Banking & Trust and has an extensive background in Education as a former Assistant Director for the Office of Admissions and Recruitment, Staff Senate President of South Carolina State University with a total of 21 years of combined experience in K-12, Truancy, Coaching, Fiscal Affairs, Risk Management, Student Activities and Engagement, Student Development, Mentoring, Student Affairs, and Recruitment and Enrollment Management.

Pitts-Howard is very active in the Orangeburg community serving as a Victim’s Services Provider for the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office and serving on various standing committees and boards.

Pitts-Howard’s passion for the youth and her community through nurturing their personal, financial, spiritual and educational growth is second to none.

Pitts-Howard is passionate about improving the “Application 2 Graduation” experience for high school students, teachers and parents, improving alumni giving and mentorship on the campuses of Historically Black Colleges and Universities and bridging the gap between the community and higher education.

Pitts-Howard is a member of the Illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Orangeburg 1000, Claflin University Orangeburg County Alumni Chapter, Orangeburg Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and the SC College Consortium on Sexual and Intimate Partner Violence.

Pitts-Howard is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of thee Claflin University with a Bachelors of Art in Sociology and Criminal Justice Administration and is elated to serve as an Alumni Brand Ambassador for the HBCU Times!
